    Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist

    Psychoanalyst

    CALMFT #106361

    Welcome

As a licensed clinical psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, I work with a variety of issues ranging from depression, sadness and anxiety to more severe issues, disorders and family conflict. I work best with those who are interested in making lasting changes in their life circumstances and inner lives.

    Speaking has a curative effect.
It brings an end to the force
    of the complex of symptoms
    by allowing its strangulated affect
    to find a way out
    through speech~

What is the goal of treatment?

By speaking one’s unconscious truth, it becomes possible to articulate one’s desire, to love,

to become able to take up responsibility for one’s life well lived

    Hannah Patricia Bennett, LMFT, Psychoanalyst

I am licensed, trained and educated both as a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst. I maintain a private practice in Berkeley, California and provide treatment in-person and remotely. I am a faculty member of SF Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis, a member of CAMFT, and a member of the Sacramento Psychoanalytic Society. I have published in The European Journal of Psychoanalysis and write elsewhere in the poetic/analytic mode. I present on the practice of psychoanalysis, and facilitate seminars in the reading of Freud and Lacan.

I see patients in individual psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, and I assist families by consulting and referring to professionals specific to a family’s needs. I work with a variety of issues from depression, sadness, anxiety, and grief, to work-related issues, school-related issues, parenting difficulties, issues related to care giving of aging family members, & trauma related symptoms. I work best with those who wish to make lasting change in their circumstances and inner lives.
